TMII Launches TMII Loop: Exciting Route for Bike Lovers Drag

Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) once again presents an interesting innovation for the public: TMII Loop, a 3.5 km long bike path designed specifically for bike lovers from various backgrounds and communities.

The first launch of TMII Loop took place lively, Saturday (5/7), in the TMII area and is open to all types of bikes. The excitement was evident from the variety of bike types that registered to take part in this event, ranging from road bikes, folding bikes, gravel, hybrid, commuter, to MTB.

The launch event began at 07.00 WIB in the Contemporary Art Gallery area with participant registration, followed by remarks from the Acting President Director of TMII, Ratri Paramita. In her remarks, Ratri said that TMII Loop is a real step in inviting the public to live more actively and healthily, while also getting to know the richness of Indonesian culture.

"We present TMII Loop as a community-friendly space, open to anyone who wants to enjoy TMII in an active and fun way. We hope this can be a new meeting point for cyclists across generations and cycling styles, as well as a means to get to know the richness of Indonesian culture better," he said.

TMII Loop is indeed not just an ordinary cycling route. This initiative is part of TMII's commitment to provide a healthy, educational, and inclusive open space, in line with the spirit of "Discover Indonesia, One Ride at a Time". With a route around the TMII area, visitors are invited to enjoy a comfortable, safe, and culturally colorful cycling experience with regional pavilions and archipelago lakes.

After the flag-off session (releasing participants from the starting line), the cyclists did two fun loop laps around the TMII area. For the sake of mutual comfort, the committee implemented four flag off batches, namely for road bikes, folding bikes, MTB and gravel, as well as commuter and hybrid bikes.

Through TMII Loop, TMII wants to embrace more cycling communities and urban families to make TMII a healthy, fun, and culturally meaningful cycling destination.

The event continued with a talk show session themed "Cycling Unites the Archipelago", which presented inspiring speakers such as Ratri Paramita and Burhan, a road bike community activist and the initiator of TMII Loop. His achievements in several national cycling events are quite proud at his age which is no longer young. His latest record, 3rd place in the 2020 Bromo KOM (King of Mountain) Challenge event in the 55-up age group.

The speakers discussed how bicycles are a unifying tool across communities and generations, as well as a means of exploring the richness of Indonesian culture. The speakers also shared their experiences so that cycling is safe and comfortable, as well as the potential of TMII as an educational and fun cycling destination.

Not only that, participants were also invited to take part in various interactive activities such as games with prizes, quick quizzes about cycling & healthy lifestyles, and challenges to create the most exciting Instagram content during cycling. There was also a “Best Outfit Ter-Kece” category that provided a stage for cyclists with the most unique and creative appearances. The event closed in the Pasar Nusantara area with a door prize draw and a group photo session.

After going through a revitalization process, TMII now comes with a new, fresher face, carrying the spirit of # SudahBedaCerita. TMII also provides a 5km running track that is friendly for runners of all ages and sports communities. This facility is designed to strengthen TMII's position as a Sport Hub as well as a green and healthy family recreation destination.

In addition, an annual pass is also available for people who want to exercise regularly. TMII is transforming into a public space that supports an active and sustainable lifestyle with 70% of the area being a pollution-free green zone.
